Drugged Sleep
Previous - Poetry Home - Next
As the darkness consumes you,
And death creeps ever so closer,
Blackness is what you see,
Pity you are a drug overdoser.

As deaths hand touches your shoulder,
And you splutter and choke and wheeze,
As disease consumes your body,
And your soul whisps away in the breeze.

In a mahogany coffin, six feet down,
They buried you body, face in a frown,
Your body confined, your spirit flying free,
As you leave the earthly plane, you sadly think,
Why me?
