The Rat

It was a quiet, peaceful day in Atlanta. Birds chirping, dogs chasing cats. No-one even suspected the terror they would face in the next couple of days. It was Friday the 13th of June, and all was quiet. All except for one thing. A scratching sound coming from the sewers…

As the scratching got louder, people got more and more curious. They wanted to know what was down there and they wanted to know bad. Soon, it got so loud that they had to cover their ears. Then it suddenly stopped. The curiousness of it overcame three people.

One was William, a famous baseball player, one was Bernard, a famous basketball player, and the last one was Luke, a scientist. As they enetered the sewers, there was a time of complete silence. A minute later, there were screams of terror.

Someone, or somethin, had found its first three victims. As night fell and the people went home, the thing escaped from the sewers and found the nearest house. I t happened to be owned by a man named Clark, the towns reporter.

The thing ate its way through the wall and jumped onto his bed. He woke up, started to yell for help and got his head bitten off by the thing. It stretched its mouth wider and wider and swallowed the mans body in one gulp. The only things it left were his little finger, his eyes, his teeth, still chattering, and his heart still beating.

It ran out of his house and back into the sewers. The next day, the police found Clarks finger, his teeth still chattering, and his heart still beating and called for an investigation. The next night, it found its next victim.

Her name was Carol and she was the town's banker. It sneaked in when she was getting changed for bed and chomped her foot off. She screamed in pain, blood spurted everywhere and the thing attacked wherever it could.

She bled to death and the thing ate all of her body, but left a perfect skeleton lying on the bed. She didn't arrive at work the next day so the police went around to check up on her. When they got into her house and found her skeleton, they put up a night watch to make sure that no-one else got murdered.

The following night, it was hungrier than normal. It chewed through the walls of a house which was home to a family of four. The two babies in their cribs were the first to die. The thing got into the cribs and swallowed them whole.

Then the thing went to the bathroom and attacked the man in the shower. It jumped up and slit the mans throat with its teeth. The mans wife walked into the bathroom to check up on her husband, saw the blood dripping from the shower and screamed. The thing saw her and attacked her arm.

She ripped it off her arm and ran to the hospital to fix up her arm. She went to the police station the next day and told them how she found her husband and what attacked her. It was a giant rat with 2 inch nails and really long, sharp teeth. The police sent a SWAT team into the sewers to rid the city of this menace.

As they were entering the sewers they heard a deafening roar. The rat had been woken up and was rather hungry. As the team went through the pipes, they started disappearing one by one until there was no-one left of the team.

Until the police lost contact with them, they though that the SWAT team had annihilated the giant rat but as it seemed, the rat annihilated the SWAT team. As it got a bigger and bigger appetite, it decided to kill more people, eat more of their houses and eat their cars to satisfy its hunger.

The terror, so far, had gone on for five nights and no-one could even dare themselves to go to sleep at night. Until the pest exterminator of all things mutant and alien, John, came along. As he set his traps at all the sewers exits, he planned to capture the giant rat and kill it while it was in the trap.

As the time went by, nothing happened until midnight. The giant rat got caught in one of the traps and was trying to break free. But the terror wasn't over. Since the rat had grown bigger and stronger, it broke through the trap and ran onto the highway.

It ate all of the cars that drove straight past it on the highway. Peoples screams were heard for miles down the highway. Dead bodies were lying on the ground and blood was everywhere. John started to make a really loud noise to make the rat follow him. He ran around his trap and started yelling at the rat.

The rat stood onto the trap and looked at John. True terror reigned on John as the trap didn't work. As the rats mouth was ten centimentres from his head, the trap worked. The rat fell into the deep hole, broke its neck and died. All of the survivors threw a party, and filled the hole in with dirt.

But little did they suspect, a new terror would rise upon the city. The rat was not alone………
