A Dance By Moonlight
Poetry Home - Next
Twirling under the moonlit sky,
Your eyes light up, a beautiful sight,
A twirling mist, on the ground doth lie,
To the dance of a tune, soft and slow.

Arm in arm, cheek by cheek,
With intricate steps across the ground,
This wonderful moment I wish to keep,
A haunting melody, the only sound.

Your lips, they smile, such a wondrous sight,
Whilst in my arms, I hold you near,
Gazing into your eyes, I could do all night,
And let you know, to me, you are dear.

The moon by now has reached its peak,
The melody, a whisper, upon the air,
The dance, once lost, it seems to seek,
For those who truly care.

The twirling mist slowly fades away,
The song, its gone, just for the night,
For now, it knows, it has had its say,
For two have helped in its plight...
