Black And White
Previous - Poetry Home - Next
Dancing through the shadows,
Running through the night,
Despair to the left of me,
Misery on the right.

But there you were, guiding me,
A source of potential hope,
Should I embrace it or should I not,
Would I be able to cope.

Life hangs in the balance,
As good and ill collide,
Like the twin sides of a lance,
It has to chose a side.

Black and white, white and black,
Battle would soon commence,
Neither side allowed any slack,
Neither allowed to sit on the fence.

The lines are drawn, the balance is turned,
The fight has just begun,
Whilst good versus evil, nobodies learned,
That neither black nor white have won.
