Paradise Lost And Found
Previous - Poetry Home - Next
The treetops glistened,
With the morning dew,
Mountains rose with peaks of snow,
In a land that no-one knew.

The beaches were all golden,
The sky cloudless, and blue,
A beautiful, hidden paradise,
Too beautiful to be true.

The sea was coloured in greens and blues,
A breathtaking sight to see,
Flowers grew in abundance here,
Their beauty timesed by three.

The man came to this paradise,
With his words and his ways,
Trees cut down for houses,
Muck covered the bays.

The beauty had been ruined,
The air was smogged and orange,
'Till the land was desolate and ugly,
Did the land start to change.

man was gone, with his dirt and his destruction,
And beauty reigned supreme,
The flowers started to bloom again,
And the mountains continued to gleam.
